Face Lift Indianapolis Carmel Indiana

Dr. Janet Turkle and Dr. Emily Hrisomalos perform facelifts in Indianapolis and Carmel Indiana and have beautiful results! Face lift (also known as rhytidectomy and cheek lift) is a procedure performed to reverse the effects of age, gravity, exposure to the sun, and daily stress by removing excess fat, tightening facial muscles, and readjusting the facial skin. (This is a full facelift, and is not a mini facelift. Click here for information about mini-facelifts.)

Men and women who are interested in facelifts may be concerned with:

Sagging skin in the mid-face
Deep creases below the lower eyelids
Deep creases along the nose extending to the corners of the mouth
Appearance of jowls
Laxity and excess skin along the jaw line and the neck line

A face lift may be done in combination with other facial procedures such as a forehead lift (brow lift), eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), chin implant, cheek implants, fat transfer, or rhinoplasty (nose job). Face lift is a highly individualized procedure that we will tailor to your unique bone structure, skin texture, and underlying muscle tone.

Face lift surgery does not improve rough skin texture, although it can be done in conjunction with procedures that do improve texture, such as laser or chemical skin peels.

The Face Lift Procedure

Face lift surgery at our Indianapolis practice usually takes several hours to complete. Incisions usually begin above the hairline at the temple, continue behind the ear, and end behind the earlobe in the lower scalp area. The skin is then separated from the underlying fat. The doctor then tightens the facial muscles and pulls the skin back. Excess skin will also be removed during the face lift.

Following face lift surgery at our Indianapolis practice, dressings are applied to decrease bruising and swelling. Pain medication is available for those who desire it. Vigorous activity should be avoided for at least two weeks following face lift. Facial features can remain somewhat swollen for several weeks after surgery and will gradually return to normal.
