Blu-U® Light Therapy with LEVULAN®
Levulan® is a topical solution used for treating rough scaly patches (actinic keratosis) caused by excessive sun exposure, pre-cancerous lesions, and acne.
LEVULAN® is a topical solution that is applied to the area which needs to be treated. It stays on for approximately 60 minutes. The area is then exposed to a light source, either IPL™ or BLU-U® light to activate the solution.
There will be some "down time" with a LEVULAN® treatment. Patients must avoid any bright light for 24 hours. Sunscreen and protective clothing is a must immediately following treatment.
