Eyelid Surgery for Men Indianapolis

Turkle & Associates Cosmetic Surgeons in Indianapolis, Indiana

Male Eyelid Surgery or Male Blepharoplasty

As men age, many eventually decide to have cosmetic eyelid plastic surgery. Male eyelid surgery, which is also referred to as blepharoplasty or eyelid lift, corrects sagging upper eyelids and reduces the bags that form just below the eyes. Male eyelid surgery at our Indianapolis practice can take years of aging away, giving your eyes a more youthful appearance. Male Eyelid Surgery Cost:

Prices for Male Eyelid Surgery: $3,000 (Upper), $2,700 (Lower), $5,400 (Upper & Lower)

The Male Eyelid Surgery Procedure

The surgeon begins eyelid surgery by making incisions along the natural creases of the upper lid, and/or directly under the lower eyelashes. These incision lines heal beautifully and are rarely detectable. The excess skin and fat is removed and the surgeon then re drapes the skin, leaving it smooth. Eyelid surgery lasts anywhere from one to three hours and is usually performed on an outpatient basis.

Alternative Approaches

In some cases, a surgeon may opt for transconjunctival blepharoplasty. The surgeon makes incisions on the lower eyelid and removes pockets of fat. This form of eyelid surgery is ideal for patients with less pronounced bags under the eyes, and leaves no visible scar.

After Male Eyelid Surgery

Following eyelid surgery, ointment is applied to the eyelids. The eyelids may feel tight and medication can alleviates any discomfort. The head should be kept elevated for several days after eyelid surgery. Application of a cold compress minimizes swelling and bruising. The sutures are removed within a week of the eyelid surgery. Most men can return to work in a few days, but must take care to protect the eyes from harmful contact and irritants.
