The Otoplasty Surgery
Generally otoplasty takes around 2 hours to perform although this can vary depending upon the extent of the surgery. The surgeon takes a wedge of cartilage out from behind the ear. She then sutures the ear into its' new position much closer to the head. The scar will usually be hidden by the ear.
After Otoplasty Surgery
After the otoplasty surgery, a bandage will be applied. Any pain will be controlled with medication. A return to normal, light activity is possible as soon as the day after surgery. Healing will continue for several weeks and incision lines will slowly fade.
